Chapter 1: One day when Sammy the PillBug went to Brickdale with his friend,Joe, they saw the scariest person they could see on the weekend. Their math teacher. “Did ya’ll do your math homework on exponents?” he asked. Sammy was silent. “Actually I did!” He exclaimed. That was a huge lie. Sammy and Joe walked off laughing.
The next day, when Sammy was doing his homework they had a knock on the door. Sammy went to get the door. IT WAS HIS MATH TEACHER. “What are you doing here?” Sammy asked. “Well, your Mom said that I’m your favorite teacher,so she wanted me to tutor you.” Mr. Phil said excitedly. He walked in and sat at the kitchen counter.
“Well aren’t you going to offer me a drink?” Mr. Phil asked. Sammy wanted to slap him. “What drink would you like?” Sammy asked him. Mr. Phil was looking around Sammy’s house. Mr. Phil’s classroom was always neat and tidy, but Sammy’s house was a pigsty. Well it was easier to clean a classroom, because it was only a fraction of Sammy’s house. “I want coke please.” Mr. Phil said. After Mr. Phil left, Sammy invited his friend Elmo, the hermit crab over. When Sammy first met Elmo, he tried to eat Sammy. After he tried to eat him, Sammy realized he was a great friend.
They hung out until Sammy’s mom came home from the store. They ate dinner and then the went to bed. Sammy ate dinner and went to bed. The next morning Sammy went for a run. When he got home he ate. He heard a knock on the door. IT WAS HIS MATH TEACHER. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?” Sammy exclaimed. “Another tutoring lesson.” After the next tutoring lesson, Sammy invited Apollo over, his best friend the praying mantis. They were doing MORE homework. This one was on superscripts and scientific notation.
The next day when they went to school they had math first. The worst thing to them. The first thing Sammy did is he asked to go to the bathroom. He tried to be clever be using mathey words. “Can I subtract myself from the equation?” He asked politely. “Sure” Mr.Phil said. Sammy stayed in the bathroom for at least ten minuets. Mr. Phil asked someone to go check on Sammy. Sally the pill bug went to get Sammy. When Sammy saw Sally he new that they were like terms.
Then Sammy went to language arts the had a substitute teacher. He said hello to the teacher and sat down. Mr. Phil had a pretty big accent, and our teacher had one too. Then Sammy realized, their teacher, WAS MR.PHIL’S WIFE! They learned about a bunch of stuff, grammar and stuff. After that class the had math fun time, which was an excuse for another period of math. “What is the ratio of boys to girls?” he asked. Nobody answered.
