Graphing Picture Project

For this project, you will create your own picture by placing ordered pairs on a coordinate grid!

 

Directions:  Be sure to check the rubric before the due date.

Part I - On Paper

  1. Get the graphing paper project sheet.
  2. Create a picture using ordered pairs!  YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MAKE A FACE!! 
    1. You must have a minimum of TEN ordered pairs. 
    2. Your picture must be in all four quadrants.
    3. You MUST label all of your points. 
    4. Please use a ruler to draw all lines so they are straight and neat.
  3. Label your points, A, B, C, D,... on your graph.
  4. Write the ordered pairs of each of your points in the table.
  5. In the top box, put the title of your picture and your name.  

 

 

Part 2 - Technology 

For this part of the project, you will re-create your graph on Desmos.com!  It's so much fun!

  1. Go to Desmos.com. 
  2. Hit LAUNCH calculator.
  3. Hit CREATE ACCOUNT.
  4. Hit the GOOGLE button.  Hit accept when the google window opens.
  5. You are now signed in and may SAVE your graph to your Google Drive.

 

  1. Enter your points into a table to make a computer generated picture (instruction below)!  
    Note:  YOU MUST PLOT YOUR POINTS IN ORDER OR THE LINES WILL NOT DRAW CORRECTLY.  See me if you have any questions.
  2. SAVE IT, then share it with me. 

 

How to Enter Your Ordered Pairs onto Desmos:

     YOU MUST USE A TABLE IF YOU WANT TO CONNECT YOUR POINTS

    1. Hit the plus sign
    2. Hit the table sign
       
    3. Enter your points in the table
    4. To save your design hit the disk drive and sign in with Google.  Hit allow. 
    5. To change the colors and connect the dots, HOLD DOWN the dots symbol by the y.

 

 

 

Optional: 

  1. You can color your picture if you would like.
  2. Include either (or BOTH) of your pictures on your wiki page!
