My math story:

                                                                                          Joey’s Big Adventure
                                                     By Wilder Berl

One day Joey was staying at "Wilder's science animal Inn" when he figured out they get free food there!! He rushed upstairs to the surface and was about to start chowing down, when Big Mac,( the biggest of the 4 staying in the in) pushed him over. "You are exponentially small, Joey, so you don't need to eat as much as me. Go away. Never come back!" he said. Joey was sad. He really wanted to go to an all you can eat buffet! He felt like he was at the base of the bully chart… He left his at school. Joey started singing. (sung to a spoonful of sugar)"They bullys at the top and then the Cheerleaders next in line. The bystanders come next and so. But then the up stander stands up and he gets next in line, and the target sits down, and is at the very end!!!!!!!!!" Joey frowned. "Ugh!" He disliked the word "target". It reminded him of the term Bullseye. He didn't want to be shot!! Joey was fed up. He was tired of the "Wilder's science animal inn". His mad expression turned happy all the sudden. He had a plan.
   Joey woke up very early the next morning, to get a big breakfast. He rushed upstairs and ate a whole apple!!!!! Then he packed his bag and left. It was a hard climb out of the "Wilder Science Animal Inn" because the doors were closed. But he did, very slowly.He hopped out and was on his way.
  Joey slithered to a forest. 3 logs were almost dropped on him! “Look, a wormy!” cried a big, yet baby human. There’s Wilder! he thought. She was playing with the  little girl. “AHHHHH!!!!” the little girl screamed. “what?” said Wilder. She pointed at Joey!!! Then she ran. Joey was very sad. The girl thought he was ugly! But he kept going. He had to expand his adventure because people started running towards him. He latched onto one of the kids. “Ewww! Teacher, teacher, something touched me!!!” She ran towards the nearest car, yelled “Mommy!” and Joey got drove away.
 Mommy, Joey thought. He climbed off the kindergarteners leg. All the sudden, a creepy old spider crawled up to him. “I am giving you a power young Joey. I am sending you on a quest. Use your power wisely. Go to Mount Ant and make peace. Know which is your friend and which is not. Make what will become a war none. Defeat the one. Do this by the spring equinox” Then the spider disappeared, but not after distributing a box. Joey open it and was surrounded by sparkles... Then they disappeared... but not without the box.
 What  kind of power? Joey thought. In front of him was a piece of paper with these words: “I am giving you a power young Joey. I am sending you on a quest. Use your power wisely. Go to Mount Ant and make peace. Know which is your friend and which is not. Make what will become a war none. Defeat the one. Do this by the spring equinox” The same words from earlier.
“Creepy,” Joey thought. But he thought about it. All the sudden he saw something flying high in the sky. A superman? Superscript? What is that? Once it got closer, Joey noticed it was an ant in a parachute. “Joey!!!” it called. “Joey, thank goodness you're here!!! We need help!!! Come with me!” The ant scurried off, and Joey slithered after him. Joey was next to the ant, except below it. “Joey!” the ant called. “oh, you’re like a subscript!”
Joey got to the ant hole. “ Hey,”Joey said,” What’s your name? Hello?????” The lightness disappeared. “KNOW WHICH IS YOUR FRIEND AND WHICH IS NOT” The room echoed. “Whoops.” thought Joey. He might want a substitute friend, now that his other one... well... wasn’t a friend.
“he-hello?” A voice whispered. Joey didn’t recognize the voice, but he didn’t want to take any chances. “ Helloooooo??? I know you’re in there! My brother was the one involved in the plan to capture you! His name is Big Bob. We all know that you were supposed to come here and change the future. They all thought in a bad way. I think in an... equation way. Maybe... Nevermind.” The ant stepped into the open. He was about 1/16th of an inch tall, and had an adorable face. “I’m Joey.” Joey said. “Hi Joey!” The ants spirits raised. “I’m Kayli! I live in this ant hill. This used to be my house. My family is the most mysterious ants here, so we got kicked out to make it a dungeon. May I live with you? Oh and now that I trust you, here’s the equation I was talking about.
Wow, Joey thought,  She is an AMAZING speller. Sarcasm.  Joey was confused. The ants were going to attack them? The war! He has to stop it! Joey was ready. He had the best plan in the world!!!!!!
Joey woke up very early the next morning to get a big breakfast. Oh yeah,  he thought, I'm in prison. He was ready though. At the base of the steps going out was a plate of Decayed leaves and lots of apples. His favorite. And a note!
Obviously Kayli. He gobbled up his breakfast and slithered to the west side just in time to see a little ant head pop out of the wall. “Your escape plan,” she said, “Is easy! The ants think worms are proper so they would never go through a wall, and they don’t notice that you live for tunnelling through dirt. Come right this way,” Kayli said. Joey thought about it. Was he that stupid? He hadn’t noticed he could go through the wall! It was nice and moist. He was glad, or else he would soak up too much sun and then he would die... He liked Kayli. “Step 2!” she said.”You team up with me.” Joey turned around and shook his anus with her hand. “Great!” she said. “step 3, Talk some sense into Big Bob. The hard part.”
Kayli must have known her way through the walls of the and hill, because not once did they ever pop out in a room or hallway. Joey could understand why the ants didn’t like to tunnel; they got dirty! He didn’t mind though. He enjoyed tunneling. “STOP!” Kayli whispered. Joey stopped, but not before his head popped out in the next room. He pulled it back, after taking a glance at Big Bob in his army uniform. Uh oh, he thought, this will be hard. “Told you!” Kayli  whispered. Kayli crawled into the room. “Spying on us through walls again?” Big Bob said. “ We are planning to put Joey through torture. Our ants are moving in on the worms right now, but the one in the back, Con Anto, is holding a tube and we will make Joey watch the other end. He will have to see his friends die. Then we kill him. All the Antatary Officials smiled at her. “May I talk to Big Bob” Kayli said,”Alone,” They smiled.  ”In the wall?” “Oh go ahead!” Ant Official #55241 said. Joey got the message: To move farther away. He turned around, at the same time he stole a glimpse at Big Bob in the wall talking to Kayli. “Big Bob, what are you doin? After mamma died last week all you do from her wisdom words is capture someone and then torture and kill him? Mamma would not have liked that. And all for food? We have plenty! Worms only eat decaying stuff. Joey, come here.” Joey felt a tingling. He tried to pull up his power. All the sudden Big Bob AND Kayli were staring at him. “Tomorrow's spring equinox. Defeat him, General Ant.  Master, we will do anything for you. Joey noticed he had hypnotizing power.
By the morning of the spring equinox Joey had everyone hypnotized. Even him!  This wasn’t hard at all. He told the ants that they have enough food, and sure enough, they believed it! He left them a little hypnotized, so they would never try to be mean again.
Then, the next day, he went back to the Wilder’s Science Animal Inn, just in time for it to close down. That was Joey’s Biggest Adventure Ever.

So, heres some algebraic stuff:

Term- a term is a number or variable                                                       EX: -7

Variable- a letter that represents a number (a value)                             EX: x

Constant- The number on its own, not part of the variable                  EX: 7

Coefficient- A number, next to the variable, multiplied by a variable. EX: 7x

Algebraic Expression- An expression built up on terms, variables, constants, and coefficients.          

                                                                                                                         EX: 7x- (-7)

variables = red, constants = blue, and coefficients = orange.

7x - (-2)y + 3

How to simplify an algebraic expression:

To simplify an algebraic expression, you must combine all “like-terms”. This means if there is two constants or variables or variables/coefficients, combine them by adding or subtracting the two or more terms.. EX if there was 3k+k you would ADD because the addition sign is before the 2nd variable of constant, k.

EX:

9w-16+6w-1

15w-17
