Animal Story

Incorporating Mathematical Terms in a Story, Song, or Poem 

 

Write a story, poem, or song about your science animal using the math vocabulary words from Chapter 1.  You need to use at least 10 vocabulary words!  You may use the words in whatever form you wish.  (For example, exponent could be changed to exponentially.)

 

INSTRUCTIONS: 

  1. Header - Title and Your Name at the top of the page - your story/song/poem must have a title with your first and last name listed below it at the top of page one.
  2. Please use correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation. 
  3. You must use at least 10 vocabulary words.
  4. You must hi-light all vocab words with a LIGHT color.
  5. You may include artwork (illustration/drawing/clip art) if you would like 
  6. Math Vocabulary Definitions - At the end of your story, type in all of the math vocabulary words that you used in your story and their correct math definitions in list form. 

** Please look up the vocabulary words we have not yet defined using these sites:

Using Google Docs

Create your GDoc.

  1. Use Google Docs (document, not spreadsheet) to write your story. (Click HERE to open Google Documents/Drive)
  2. Click on Create, Select Document (Red button on the left side of the page)
  3. Name your document:  Click on the words "Untitled Document".  A window will pop up and you can name your document.  
    Please name it:  Math Number, Story Name


Share your GDoc with me.

  1. Click on the blue SHARE button on the top right hand side of the page.
  2. At the bottom of the pop-up window, click on the line below the words "add people".
  3. CAREFULLY type in my email address.  jreulbach@woodlawnschool.org
  4. Then, scroll down and click the green Share and Save button.
