Jeans GDoc

Each group will need to assign a:
- GDoc Data Analyst (this will be the person most knowledgeable with google docs).
- Wiki Expert - (the person most knowledgeable with wiki work)
- Reporter - LA superstar
** Those with four members will share an assignment (whatever your group is weakest in). **
Everyone else in the group will need to calculate the MEAN, MEDIAN, and MODE of the Jeans Data by hand. Do the Median and Mode AFTER the spreadsheet is sorted.
GDOC Data Analyst
- Duplicate the Jeans Data Sheet, only ONCE for each group.
- Name your data sheet with the combined initials of each of your first names in your group. ie EAQC
- SORT the data into 1,2,3 order.
- Calculate the Mean using a formula, enter it onto the data sheet at the bottom.
- Enter Median and Mode from hand calculations into your gdoc spreadsheet.
- Make a BAR chart of the jeans that each person owns.
- AFTER your group discusses frequency charts, make one on your data sheet
- Make a BAR chart and a PIE chart of the frequency chart.
Wiki Expert
- CREATE a new wiki page, upload any charts created by the Analyst (or other members)
- Format the wiki page
- Copy the Reports work into the wiki page.
- Place a link to your page on the Jeans Submission Page
Reporter
- Create a GDocs word document to record all of the action!
- Share this document with your other group members and Mrs. Reulbach, instructions on How To Share A GDoc here.
- Type up information about this project. Include:
- How we collected the data, tell how we all entered the information individually on the GDoc for homework.
- How we analyzed the data by hand and with the GDoc spreadsheets
- What charts we created
- Our conclusions (get with your group).
Group Work:
With your group members, review FREQUENCY charts in your book and from your notecards. You may also want to review our DaVinci Proportions project.
Create a frequency chart by hand to see how many people own how many jeans. GDoc Analyst will create frequency chart on the GDOC.
Discuss your finding about the average of our class and the average given on Jeansguide.net
- Was our class average close to the national average?
- Why do you think this was?
- What factors do you think affected this?
- Any more ideas?
- Explore any other ideas that you have. You may even incorporate data analysis if you wish.
- ANALYZE your wiki page - this will be your final submission!
Putting it all together (Friday)
Please make sure your wiki page is READABLE (not too many bright colors in the text BODY).
On your WIKI page, you need:
- Group Names (first name, last initial)
- All graphs
- Reporter Information (THREE sections)
- How you collected the data
- Findings
- Conclusions
- Add your wiki page to the Jeans Submission Page
